    The great divide.

Building the intake system for the Rat fuel injection and wanting opinions on dividing the intake or not.I am using an offenhauser 360 degree duel four as a base. This intake separates down the center. So should I put a dividers between the throttle bodies or not.Any thoughts.I have considered a removable divider but would be a lot of extra work.I have included some pics to make things a little clearer.

I don't think it matters if there is a divider or not as it is only air that will be flowing through the throttle bodies and the top of the intake.

All the MPFI intakes I have seen do not have any center dividers just open plenum with as close to the same length runners as possible.

I am curious why 4 throttle bodies? For looks?

    Cool project, keep us posted.

That's an ingenious looking home cooked set up. Are you building a plenum on top?

Raise the throttle bodies and change the angle so their intake sticks out straight over the valve covers, that way you can make a huge plenum between them without much need for a divider. Otherwise, that design is going to create alot of turbulence, unless you port the left throttle body to the right side intake ports and vice versa. I wouldn't want to be the guy to design that manifold.

Partially for looks and the throttle bodies I have are from a 3.8 Ford.I bought them thinking they would be big enough using 2 but after looking them over I decided I may need more air.

No plenum, was thinking either cone type filters straight off the bodies or maybe some 22.5 elbows then the filters.

If I could start from scratch I would build an intake with separate runners for each cylinder but because the BBB has the intake as the top of the motor that would be to much for me(for now anyway).I could have used carburetors for air only but decided that was to boring. My thinking on a divider, each throttle body would be supplying air to 2 cylinders only. The offenhauser intake would more or less become a duel plenum as it is split down the center.Without a divider seems as though the air from the 2 bodies would slam into each other but, maybe I am over thinking it.As far a this being a "tunable" intake,no way.

Some progress on the intake. One down, one to go.No divider, throttle linkage should be interesting.
