Beth was allways a camaro girl till I came along with my GS.From time to time I would let her take the GS out for stuff(usually for food for me)
well one day she came back home from a ride and she was all fired up,tellin me how proud I woulda been of her she went up against..get this...another GS. On sheridan road on the north side of Chicago, for those of you who dont know,Sheridan is the northern link to Lake Shore Drive,a very nice cruise. She was at a light next to a triple black GS Stage 1 convertable(more on him later) My 72 was on its last leg with the 68 350 I had been thrashing for years, the guy starts racing his motor, gives her a look like "that rusty POS cant keep up with me"... light changed green and she took him out, short race, next light he wouldnt even agknowledge her. Sore loser.
Turns out I saw the guy a week later at a side walk cafe with the car right there, I admired his ride and asked if it was a real stage 1 and he gave me some smartass remark,I walked over to look at the vin, told him I liked his 70 Skylark steering wheel and he went nuts...I wonder if he knew it was my wife who beat him the previous week....
    I hope so.

haha thats a cool story i hate it when someone gives you a smart remark and acts all tough i rmember when i went to the spectrum which is by the theatre out here around my area where all the ricers meet and i saw a 68' skylark and i was with my freind there so i went to look at it and he had the hood proped open it was an sbc i was dissapointed but i figured id ask the guy what he had in it so i asked and he was like a regular motor and everyone was like oh it was stupid the guy was an idiot i cant wait till my car is done im gonna park next to his pos and embarass him and when he asks me whats the engine ill say the same thing he did to me...

This reminds me of a story when i did a short half of a block race with another buick guy. Anyways, he was driving either a '88 or '89 century, and i pulled up to him about a half block from my house. he looks over at my car and im trying to keep my eyes on the stoplight, and when the light turned green I gave my car a little gas and I went shooting about 1/4th ahead of him and I turned in the driveway and as i stop and look in my rear view mirror I seen him drive by slowly and look at my car. I guess he was checking to see if he got beat by a buick and not another car:laugh:   I wasn't racing him for competition, I was racing him to see what kind of looks would appear on his face. I wouldn't mind being beat by a buick, for that matter, I would rather be beat by a buick than something else. I never seen that guy again, probably not a local. Whoever he was, I could tell he was a buick fan due for the fact he had the buick logo and the name BUICK on top of the logo.

ya know whan I ran into the guy I really just wanted to admire another nice looking Buick(it was really sweet)
And even though it was a clone it was done really well from what I could tell.

But what got me was this guys attitude
    pompeous and condecending.
Made me glad my wife bitch slapped him
with my rusty, incorrectly painted, wrong motor'd, peeling vinyl top GS.
    though its much better nowaday's.

when anyone takes the time to say to me something even remotely close to
"hey nice car dude" I let them know how much I appreciate it,and I usually end telling them to check out v8Buick.

My better half was addicted by a quick run against a Camaro using my Wagon sleeper.

If all goes well I'll be at the track this year with a borrowed kiddie seat and a "Winnie the Pooh" window shade in ol' Wagon.

Somebody's goin' home without thier pride.

Heheheh I love humiliating guys in unsuspecting cars. Started out with our 86 Subaru GL-10 Turbo Wagon, it was a 5 speed and got up to 60 in about 7 seconds, we humiliated a couple guys with that, but now I've graduated to my full size 69 Sport Wagon. It's always the show at the dragstrip! It's been a while since I've humiliated anyone on the street with it, but it'll happen sooner or later again. I'm working on getting a 3:42 posi for it...another wagon owner claims he lost almost a full second in the quarter mile swapping the stock pegleg to a 3:42 posi! It's gonna be awesome. I'm gonna get to maybe race my brother in his Mustang 5.0 in a few weeks, I can't wait!
