does anyone know where you can buy the terminals used in the old GM connectors for our wiring harnesses.....?? I know they are out there, but need to find someone who will sell to individual...need the blade (and matching receptacle) type and the round ones that crimp on.....looking to buy 50-100 of each. thanks Tim
I'm not good with connectors, but try NAPA. They carry a lot of different things. Two summers ago I needed one of the connectors in the fuse block and they had it in stock.

Try "Terminal Supply" 1-800-989-6332. I've found a lot of things I neeed there such as light bulbs and terminal ends. Steve
NAPA NAPA NAPA NAPA NAPA I just rebuilt my wiring harness and ordered the blades for in the bulkhead connector and the females that fit into all the plastic connectors under the hood. OEM. I'll look for my receipts and see if I can get you the part nos. I had to look through their connector catalog, but it was obvious which ones I needed. They are absolutely the exact ones. I also bought a real OEM crimper on-line. Cost $101 but was worth every penny as it put OEM "B" crimps in the connectors. To get the females out of the plastic connectors use a very flat blade or screwdriver to flatten the locking tab, then it slides right out. out *********************EDIT*********************** The 2 terminal part numbers are 725145 (.27 each) and 725147 (.25 each). I don't know which # is the male blade for in the bulkhead and which is the female for in the plastic connectors. I also ordered some single plastic connectors (housings). As far as the multiple housings, no way. But your originals should still be usable if you are gentle taking them apart. I have plenty left if anyone wants some for nothing.

Well I called NAPA with the P/N's (same place) and they had to order one but had the other in stock. Sure enough the 725147 female end is a perfect match to originals, right down to the little mark on the "tongue". Thanks guys...guess it depends who your counter guy is...... It took me 2 days to find it, and also a call to the company to locate a vendor. I'll look for the receipt tonight and post it. Given the choice of redoing my wiring harness again, I would STILL spend $101 for this crimping tool. It was THE difference between success and failure in my wiring harness - bar none!
OK I got it from Specialized Products Company http://www.specialized.net/ecommerce/shop/frameset.htm Specialized part# is 307X288 Sargent Open Barrel Crimp Tool, Sargent part# is 2128CT $76.00 I had it shipped overnight for $19.95 and $5.76 tax = 101.71. You REALLY know you have a serious "industry tool" when you use it. I don't know how I ever managed without it. How many butt connectors and ring terminals have we all crimped on with pliers?
Kent-Moore sends the dealers pretty good crimping tools, also. You can call them at 1-800-345-2233. On a related note, you might find some tips here and see some of the crimpers on this page
Yardley, that criimper kicks some serious butt....it is a very decent tool, and works very well. Even feels nice in your hand....worth every cent!! (final price was 133.67 Canadian). Thanks for all the help on this. later Tim
