    Murphy Just Getting Started

I started removing my old top to install my new top:Do No: It seemed like a logical start anyway, get the old 1 out of the way first:Do No: Anyway, my top was stapled down to what looks like cork strips attached to the roof crossmembers. What is the tack strips made of:Do No: Some of it looks ok, some looks very rotten like dry rot. Can this be replaced:Do No: Do I have to order it, or can I get something at the local hardware store:Do No:

Dan - "Year One" also carries the correct tack strips. I got mine from them years ago and they're still in great shape. I think they're about $15 each, ready to install. The front and the rear tacking strips are different widths. You can find them at www.yearone.com

p.s. I installed my complete top with no experience and no help, and it turned out pretty dang good! Would have been easier with an extra pair of hands sometimes, though.

    Good luck!:TU:
