The trans I just pulled has a little switch on the side and it has two wires coming out of it, is this for the reverse lights or is this some type of neutral safety switch, It was not connected to anything, does somebody have a picture of how this switch is supposed to be connected as in the wiring and the little lever that is connected to the switch? I have a picture of the switch but I cannot downsize it to attach to this post.

I found a parts diagram and it says its the reverse light switch, my other question is where does the little lever connect to, anybody have a pic of this?

it usually connects to the reverse lever on the trans/shifter,so when you put the shifter in reverse the lever goes rearward and pulls the switch back through that little rod.

    Thanks

I will take a picture for you off my Muncie so you can see how it is,on mine there was a coat hanger activating the switch when the lever would go rearward to reverse, lol hey it worked.

Hey - that coat hanger could be pulled off the tranny and used to break into your car. Better get rid of it.

Or, in a pinch it might make a fine antenna.

Man, coat hangers are the duct tape of the fashion world.
