I'm not sure all what's going on, but between the stock '67 case and the later case with the home brewed orifice, going to high stall is just as quick as before, but coming back down from high stall seemed to happen more rapidly than before, for what it's worth. Line pressures were raised during the rebuild, and the stator piston was modified for a tad more travel, so I don't know how much those things factor in as well.

Delco #8611710 (?) This is from earlier in the thread, Devon mentioned it,
(DaWildcat) Not sure if this works or is just close (?) I have to look but the at the case, but the set screw restrictor mentioned might be the "easy" way vs. a press in plug, to allow easy removeal/replacment without buggering things up on each experiment. Having a decent machine shop setup makes this not a big worry for me, either way (Delco plug, (KB ?)rod, set screw (Devon) ) any of the above should work fine, and be easy to make or modify to the application. (If the macined rod seems best, I could crank out a few to those for anyone else if needed)

I'll talk to Jim W again, when I get into build seaon (fall is get everything buttoned up for winter season here in MN) to see if he would like to do the build, he was good enough to let me know his converter rebuilder, and was very helpful, but also was only luke warm (my feeling) on doing a tranny build for a Jeep. There is also another converter builder that I would like to talk to. But I think the project is a go :TU: , just need to get my crap together, engineer the rest of the system.

One semi interesting idea I am thinking about is doing a PWM controller to get a true variable pitch vs. the two pitch, but that will take some messing around to tune, and may just endup beating the stator or solinoid to death (?)

I apperciate the input, and help.

Jim told me about Delco #8611710, it's probably the plug he uses. I've heard of people using the cap from the end of a glass fuse, a carb jet, etc.
