I have the traditional spring and air shock combo and like the stance . Is there a recommended non- air shock replacement that will keep the stance the way I like. ? I just don’t trust air shocks.. ( I had a a bad experience with them deflating in a Camaro I had in the 80’s ).

You'd actually have to put a different spring in to achieve the same effect & then maybe a longer than stock shock.

I've had a few sets of air shocks, and boy do they make for a rough ride. They are usually pretty stiff, and uncomfortable. What are your thoughts on the ride? Anything change in the last 25 years?

Depends on how high - pressure - you run with. I went with cargo springs and KYBs and it sits about the same as stock.

Bill - no change - they run hard. I was amazed at how much better the ride is when I switched to a stock suspension.

I'm on my 2nd set of Gabriel's, ran Delcos before that and I towed a 17 foot Hydrostream ski boat 3 times a week and a 19' Bayliner 100 miles one way to salmon fish on the weekends years ago. Needed the extra lift then. I still use a new set of Gabriels, never over 25lbs air. The ride got stiffer/rougher with polyurethane bushings installed on frt & rear. Never any wheel hop on burnouts, etc. Not much squat on launch, just front end up.
I don't have a problem with them yet. Have the full F41 option.
