I have another project that needs funding so I'm putting my Stock Appearing Drag Car up for sale. This is a 1970 Skylark that was SUPER CLEAN & RUST FREE that has been converted to a lightweight Stage 1 Clone. Car is set up to Race or simply Cruise. It would do extremly well at a car show also. This car is probably the Lightest Stock Appearing GS in the country but it has NOT been hacked up. I've been building and restoring these Gran Sports for almost 30 years so alot of knowledge went into building this car and keeping it lightweight and still Stock Appearing. This car would probably weigh less than 3,000 pounds with TA Heads & Intake. (along with my Sleeper Wheels) No expense was spared during the Frame Off Restoration. The funding ran out when it came time to build the Motor so for now it has a Rebuild - Stock 1971 455 in it that has put the car into the 12's. This Motor made 388 HP so imagine this car with a Real Motor making 500 to 600 HP (or more) I have a spread sheet that documents the build up and costs. Almost 60K went into this build so far NOT counting my Labor. Currently smack dab in the middle of a 1972 GS Stage 1 Restoration for a customer. 33,000 original mile car with No Rust and totally matching #'s. Should have that done by September. Same customer also just purchased a 49,000 original mile 1972 Skylark that will be made into a Stock Appearing 700/800 HP Stage 2 Beast. Total Sleeper. A family member just purchased a 1970 Stage 1 GSX that came from Long Beach California. I have a chance to purchase this car prior to the Restoration which is why my car is up for sale. Either way it's in the family but........I'd like it under my roof  Needless to say my Diecast Business has turned into a Buick Restoration Shop. At least now I'm spending somebody elses money for something that I love to do. .
This is what I was thinking :TU: No way you would part with such a cool ride like this unless you had one one the burner. If you dont take it drop me a line and a price I may have a interest. :beer
ou: I was just looking through your link to your past and present car builds and I had no idea you were the one that built that silver carou:ou: That is pretty much my all time favorite car/sleeper and I have wondered for years what happened to it. Did a board member end up with it? On the car you are selling, is it all steel and conform to the F.A.S.T rules? You have great taste!
Not all Steel and would not meet ALL the rules at this time. I haven't seen my Silver GS in years. Not sure who owns it at this time. I know it's changed hands a couple times. Thanks for looking! .
Beautiful car. Good luck with the sale. I too was looking forward to how quick it would be with the race motor!
Not to worry guys, it more than likely won't sell and I have a few other options to fund my other project. Still open to offers if someone is interested. Would even consider a NICE Rust Free Skylark on trade. (70-72) .
