Super Case Muncie

Has any one here had one of the Auto Gear Super Case Muncie transmissions in their car for a long enough period of time to make an adequate appraisal of it's strengths and weaknesses? These seem to be available "NEW" from several venders, any one better than another? Please relate your experiences.

I intend to convert a car from auto trans to manual, and would even consider a Keisler RS600 5-Speed. I would like to learn from the experiences of others, including any customer service issues.

    Thanks, Jim J.

    Hi,

I installed a M22W in my 65 running a 401 dual quad and I am very satasfied with it had Larry at D&L put it together about a year ago
the gear spread is different than the orginal M-20 gear set just cut at the steeper helix like the M22 rockcurshers

I do notice a little more gear noise, but that is due to the straighter cut gears, nothing anoying as I have heard the autogear cases are thicker and drown out a lot of the noise that a orginal M22 would have, shifts nice and have had no issues going thru the gears in a hurry only driven on the street with stree tires but seems to handle power shifts well

    good luck with the swap,

  3. I've had one in my car for 4 years. Had the thing in and out of the car about 15 times. The case is worth it.

    SP4SPD Slideways in the streets!

I have had one of the super cases in my GS for 5+ years. I also added the iron mid plate, counter shaft, input shaft and 1/2nd gears. My 470 engine made 520hp/550tq on the dyno and I bang the gears every time I take it out and have not had any issues with it.
I have been very satisfied with the investment.

I also have a m22w unit. I havn't driven it yet, but I absolutly can't wait to. In terms of costs, its really a no brainer. A decent stock case unit is 1200-1500 bucks, with a 500 dollar core. An all new supercase is 2000-2500.
