On behalf of Dave Mongeon, Derek Graham, and Mike Tomaszewski, we proudly present the 25th anniversary reunion of the Super 16 class at the 34th annual Buick GS Nationals (dates to be announced) at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The 3 persons listed above created this class to showcase the fastest Buicks in the world in one place. Big blocks, turbos, superchargers, naturally aspirated. If it is Buick bodied and Buick powered it is good to go. Many people have come and gone both as enthusiast or driver/owner or spectator, but the memories will last forever. Before its too late and for a one time only spectacle to pay homage to many of those who have carried the Buick torch of performance, both big block and small block, we look to bring a reunion of the cars and the people together for one final time. A true tribute to Buick performance to not only the drivers, owners, mechanics and enthusiasts but to the cars as well. We are looking to get as many of the original cars in attendance, whether to race or show or both. We would love to see everyone race their car but realize time and budgetary constraints may be an issue. If you can bring the car to the event with cobwebs from sitting in the barn for 10 years, no problem, people will love to see it, period. We are looking to have this special show on Friday from 830am to 1030 am for car show and photo ops. We are hoping to line the cars up on the track on both sides similar to how the NHRA hot rod reunions are planned out accordingly. Then we will take each car who wishes to race and have 2 qualifying runs and then run eliminations that afternoon as well. Monies will be collected to sponsor this class for prize money, as well as possible participant t shirts or hats. That will be decided down the road as we get closer to the event. We appreciate any and all sponsorship of the class as it will go directly to the participants. More details will be forthcoming as well. Here in no particular order is the list of cars we want to see attend this event. This list will be updated as well and I do know some of the cars on here are not around or with new owners. I am hoping someone can give myself or the other individuals involved contact information to get these owners to bring their cars to this event. Some cars also have never been to BG but when you think of Buick performance history, you have to include these cars because they are the backbone of Buick performance. Here they are in no particular order: Mike/Eddy Smith West Virginia Kenny Duttweiler prepared GN (2 of them) Paul Pirnat 69 Skylark Mark Busher Lil Joe 1970 GS Gary Paine Great Scat 1968 GS Gary Paine Thumper 1970 GS Todd Berreth GT Performance 1970 Skylark George Mueller "PRO GS" 69 GS Pat Sweeney 1970 GS Stage 2 car (Jim Turner's old car) Fred Catlin/Rick Patterson 1969 Stage 2 car (Buizilla)/ 1970 C Stock automatic GS Lou/Larry Gilbert Southside Machine Buick Skyhawk Rusty Wilbank/Jay Vanous 1967 GS 455 Guy Parquette 1970 GS Reynolds Stage 2 car Mike Guarise Jones and Benisek 1970 GS Race car Dave DeHabey Kenne Bell big block Regal Rich Brower "Coin Operated" 1970 GS Rod Hendrickson 91 Regal Scott Stern 1987 455 Regal (Poston car) William Dotson (now Toy Barn) 87 GN tube chassis car "Tweaked" 83 Regal (formerly Lawrence Conley, then Will Wilkerson, now????)
