I havn't started on my Sun Coupe yet, but I do know I'm going to need a few things. 1. The ends of the bows have what my literature calls "protective covers", but a few are missing. Anybody know where I can get new ones? 2. The vinyl top and the folding top itself are in pretty decent shape. However, I've not tried to dismantle anything yet. I know the vinyl top itself is different than a regular top for Skylarks and GS's as it does not have the two seams running lengthwise. Where can I get top vinyl material wide enough for the car and material for the folding top itself?
Send me a PM and I'll send you the contact for NOS material. You DO NOT want to use the reproduction vinal top material for the Sun roof portion. The fuzzy back material streches too much and will flap. I've seen the ends of the bows with tape wraped around them from the factory. I like to use tool dip. The liquid plastic in a can made for dipping the handles of your pliers. It also works for the hood release handle. Steve
PM on it's way. And yes I had thought about the plasti-coat stuff. I've used it on the hood release handles before. Just figured I'd see if I could get NOS or OEM stuff first. Thanks!
2 possible sources for the bow caps are Niagra plastics and Caplugs. They both sell caps and plugs to the OE parts suppliers. I know they have stock sizes of vinyl caps. I have not contacted either of them. Steve
