Hi all, Well, I've decided there no 2 ways about it. I'm going to have to pull the 430 out of my '69 Riviera and tear it down. At the minimum I need to replace all the gaskets, and I'm leaking coolant somewhere (hopefully just the head gasket & not a cracked head). I am looking for suggestions on what parts I sould automatically replace, and also what things would make sense to do cost effectively since the motor will be apart. I'm not looking to race the car, but if I could do some low-cost performance mods while at it that would be great. Any suggestions or words of wisdom?
Hmmmm......there's a shop right in your neck of the woods. Supposedly theis guy knows a thing or three about making a buick motor hum. Think his name is Jim Weiss and the shop is called Tri Shield Performance Telephone 612-522-8219 Postal address 3001 Upton Avenue North Minneapolis, MN. 55411 Supposidly he's got the website too........ I know If i was in your neck of the woods who I'd be dropping a dime (and a 430 block) on
WOW! I've been seeing their name all over the internet when searchin for Buick stuff, but I had no idea they were just around the corner. That's only like 10-15 minutes away from me. Thanks for the info! (I'm still open to ideas from others who have gone before me and what they have had success with)
I sent Jim W. my motor from Texas and would do it again and again and again. He is great and highly recommended!!
