Sudden tranny issues

What I mean is ask to see an actual copy of the warranty from whomever you choose to buy from. In my case and with others I have now met this particular builder does everything he can to NOT honor warranty issues. He does not belong to the BBB and when he did the records showed many, many unresolved complaints. He also has many pending civil suits and has changed the corporations name to try and cover up his dismal customer relations. Also the 2-3 warranty with no mileage cap is pretty much standard where I live. However, I have now learned the warranty wording varies greatly!
Good luck with whomever you choose.

Warranties aren't worth any more than the guy standing behind them, or not standing behind them. I could tell you I'll fix anything that happens to that T-200 behind your BBB no matter what for life. We all know it's a grenade and if I just tell you "Sue me", what are you going to do? That's why most car dealerships laugh about lemon laws. I worked as a Service Advisor at a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram OEM dealership and believe me, those guys aren't in the least intimidated by lemon laws.

I couldn't agree more. Cost a bit more but that is why I decided to stay local this time around.

    Re: Sudden tranny issues..

I gave up on others building a 2004r. I know there are great builders out there but none fit my budget.

Who is working on yours this time?

A place called Fourth Gear Inc. located in Eustis FL. Was recommended by guys at the local car shows who heard about my car. Converter and shift arrived today and were being put in earlier.

All I can say is that it was worth the wait! I now realize that not only did my prior transmission have issues but that the upgraded converter they sold me was garbage. Upshifts with the Transgo kit in the new unit are firm but not bangy, down shifts are barely noticeable. Overall the car is performing much much better as the shift points and a quality converter make the most out of my 284 cam which I am thankful for.

Glad you could get your trans issues under control. Ive not had personal experience with the trans depot place but have yet to read anything resembling a good experience with one of their 2004r units.

Boy has this new tranny changed the feel and performance of my car. Nice when things work the way they should. Keeping my fingers crossed. LOL

I am glad to hear, you have a good combo and it should work really well! Are you running a lockup converter?

We will see. Had the car back not even a week when I ran into issues. Turns out I need to have the timing cover replaced. So since I’m off the road AGAIN I’m also going to change out the water pump, thermostat , hoses, leaky rubber valve cover gaskets under the TA aluminum cover and I am going to finally get rid of the foggy dash clock and put a repo tach in!
