Have you been itching to put a big-block Buick into your Suburban? If so, we have the ticket!

My brother put a 455 in his '85 suburban, and instead of getting an adapter plate made up for the Chevy bellhousing, a transmission shop rebuilt the TH400 and put a BOP bellhousing on the front. The transfer case was unmodified (but pronounced in "good condition" at the time). About a year later, the truck was so rusted out that it failed inspection and was junked. However, we still have the transfer case & transmission (attached to each other).

Now they are just taking up space, and we want to get rid of it.

I think this is the 208-style transfer case (not the 205) - not sure exactly what that means, but apparently the Suburban people like this one.

$150 (or any reasonable offer), located in Reading, MA.

I prefer not to ship, pickup would be idea. We could probably do a truck shipment if we had to (probably quite expensive). We have a van and could probably deliver this in the north east, perhaps as far as Pennsylvania, for an additional charge.

    Thanks!

    Still available!

    Must go within 7 days!

ANY PRICE or FREE! Someone must want this - it is only taking up space in the garage.

Delivery in the northeast is available! (I'll have to charge for mileage though)

If nobody wants this within a week (by 5/23/10), we'll have to dump it... :(

Please contact me - PM or whatever.

    Bob,
Is the Driveshaft Yoke on the Driver or Passenger Side?
Is it a short shaft 400 Trans?
My neighbor is still looking for one.
    Thanks Again,
    Doug

Boy I wish you were 3000 miles closer!
455 Chevy 4X4 truck or suburban would be fun.

The front shaft is on the passenger side. He did call me and said he wanted it but never made arrangements to get it. I need to clear the space.

    Thanks

I'm not sure. The output shaft has a large flange that mates to the transfer case input. I think it's considered full length.

Sorry about the delays in responding. I still have this and still want to see it go someplace useful instead of throwing it away. Somebody please take this off my hands.

Last chance! Transmission and transfer case will be junked this weekend. Pick it up for free! Must go, no place to keep it.

Dude, if I could come close to justifying the trip, this would save me a TON of time. I am going to have exactly the same set up in my 88 'Burb. 455 - BOP case t-400 in front of a 4x4 transfer case.
