    Hi Guys,

I haven't posted on here much this summer, probably because I was occupied too much with the street stock team I was on. I go to Niagara College here in Niagara, and I'm in the Motive Power Program. We built an '84 Olds Cutlass street stock this winter and although we started really late in the season (almost half way into the season), we finished really well at the tracks we attended all summer, especially Gasport in Port Colborne, where we finished 10th in points. We all thought that was really good, considering we started late, and it was the first year for the car, with a stock cam.

I was one of two mechanics on the team. I got to drive a mechanic's race and a 25 lapper at the end of the year. I had a truckload of fun working on the car, and driving is a total adrenaline rush! Way more smiles per mile than drag racing (although I'm not knocking drag racing!)

I just thought I'd show you guys a picture of the car. I was also wondering how many other guys here do or have raced on Dirt? If anybody here gets the chance to do it, don't pass it up. Getting pounded in the chest with chunks of clay, sideways in the corners, and rubbin' with other guys is all part of the fun.

Back to Buicks and Chryslers this winter!

    Steve,

Nice car, I like the colours! :Brow:

What exactly are the rules for the bomber class? We don't have that up here where we race, we just have mini stock 4 cyls, street stocks, modified 358's, and sportsman. I've seen that bomber class mentioned elsewhere on the internet, but I haven't really investigated it. Looks pretty much like a street stock car! :)

Our chassis's have to be stock (no wedge bolts, no tube chassis), and we have to run a 2bbl (but we're allowed to run an alum. intake with a 2bbl adapter), and no more than .450 lift on the cam. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough money to buy a cam this year, so we ran a stock .390/.410 cam. That pretty much gave the car NO top end, but we could get 'em out of the turns!

    Can't wait for next year!

Has anybody else raced dirt? I'd really like to hear some stories!

Here's another of the car... actually, just one turn away from one of our biggest hits of the year... IIRC, we had to be towed off the track:Dou:
