Stone dead battery- will it bounce back?

The battery on Jen's Boss 302 is Stone dead. I should of put the trickle charger on it last year but it's in a remote garage and it became an out of sight, out of mind situation.

That being said, I put the trickle charger on it today. The battery is 2 years old. Do you think there's any hope of it bouncing back? I thought I read somewhere that charging up a dead battery slowly is better.

I was going to leave it on the trickle charger till Monday and see what it reads on my dvom

    What say you?

Maybe, if it is sulfated, it's probably toast.

Keep in mind, trickle chargers won’t turn on a completely dead battery. It needs to sense that it’s connected to a live battery

We at the store hook a live battery with jumpers to customers completely dead batteries to start the charging process

Some chargers have a desulfation mode that can bring stone dead batteries back from the dead.

And don't get me started on battery chargers that won't charge a dead battery. I have an ancient Sears charger that I have to hook up for a few minutes to put a few volts in before the new "SMART" charger knows there is a battery there.

Yeah, our old “dumb” charger took a dump, so now use the live battery technique. Frustrating

AGM or FLA battery? Both stand a chance, but an FLA stands a better chance. Voltmeter is very limited into how to judge how good a battery is. Plenty of choices for inexpensive carbon piles for < $100

Just an old school lead acid battery. One of these days I should pick up an old Sun Vat 40

I leave it on bake till Monday and see where we're at.

It's a 2013 with I think a little over 11k on it. I think the last time it was out was a year ago

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

Funny thing today I had this problem and I got an old school sears charger from my neighbor to kick start a 2 amp charge on each battery and now I have the regular golf cart charger working. The charger would not work when they were all completely dead. Like Jason I hope I can pull some more life out of these batteries as they are only 3 years old.

I've had several dead batteries with less than one volt come back to life and last for years. Charged them with my old Craftsman 6 amp charger for a few days.

When I called Schumacher about why their "smart" charger would not charge a dead battery their response was usually battery is not totally dead. Well...if you leave something on for a week it will be! Or any kind of slow drain for a long time......
Then he said disconnect battery when not in use. Well yeah.....I suppose....

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

I've got one of these and it's the only charger I've had that will bring back a completely dead battery.

NOCO makes great products - I very impressed with my NOCO jump battery.

I use my old K-Mart brand battery charger for dead batteries that my “smart “ charger won’t charge.
