I need to remove the steering column in my '62 Electra. I have everything disconnected except at the steering box in he engine compartment. I see a collar with a bolt through it, where the column is connected to the steering box. Is this all there is to disconnecting the column or is there more to it? Do I need to mark anything for reinstallation. Appreciate your help.

My 2 cents: it is best to disconnect at the steering gear box first, as you do not want the column hanging without the collar.
