I'm installing the top on my 68 GS 400. I've been thinking about modifying the installation of my well liner to the trim stick.
Has anyone ever secured well liner to Trim Stick by stapling the well liner so it hangs from the trim stick? This would expose the trim stick in the well. The standard method shown with the well liner being inserted from the top, draping over the trim stick and hanging into the well.
    My reasons are:
    1. Should not effect drainage. Both ways are covered by window and top.
    2. Should make it easier to install and make adjustments to window and top duuring installation.
    3. Only negative would be trim stick is exposed with top up. (I've painted mine and am using stainless steel screws)
I would appreciate anyone's comments or experience installing top.
    Thanks in advance, Gary

...only thing I can think of is possibility of top material catching on tack strip...
