Stage 2 crush zone

    I was torquing my Stage 2 Street elims and #3 bolt (between ports) suddenly moved 1/8 turn with less resistance just as I was reaching 110 lbs. My immediate thought was that the threads stripped. Torqued up to 110 OK after.

    My heads are ported but no tubed were installed . Am I screwed, did the port crush? The bolt head appears to be slightly lower than the others.

    Heading to Pittsburgh for the NMCA race.

    I was looking at an early set of Stg 2's without the 4 extra bolt holes near the exhaust. Dave at TA told me that you can drill them out and install the extra bolts but you may have crush issues without installing tubes. I don't have experience with that but it didn't sound good to me. I hope your heads are okay:shock:
