My shifting linkage is totally different but I confirmed my #1 notch (what should be P) on my shift lever corresponds to the shifter shaft on the transmission being fully clockwise and fully counterclockwise when in my #4 slot (what should be D). I'm hoping it is just a low fluid issue. I started it again today with my only goal of checking the trans fluid at idle and it wasn't even on the stick so I added about 2 pints but then the engine died and she wouldn't start again...I'm chasing lots of gremlins!

Apparently not Michael. I guess just like musclecars, it's become a hobby for the rich man. (not that I'm rich). Had mine for 37 years.
