Got the GSX running for the first time in a few years, running great by the way.

She sure is squeaking real bad. Needs to be greased, WD40'd, whatever.... Here's my question, while driving the veicle at speed (25+ MPH) I get a squeaking noise that is resonating from :Do No: (it sounds like its coming from) behind the dashboard. It could be the frame rubbing on the body and resonating up and sounding like it's coming from behind the dashboard. Nonetheless..... it will drive me crazy, it's that bad.

Any sugeestions before I start greasing and spraying WD40 all over the place behind the dash and under the car?

    VinMan.....

Grease all the rubber bumpers under the hood, and make sure you don't forget the one's on the cowl, and the rubber seal that runs across the top of the cowl. That should take care of it.

Is the sound speed sensitive.......it increases in frequency with an increase in speed???? If so, you need to remove your speedo cable and grease it. You can do this from the trans end by unscrewing it from the trans and then sliding out the inner drive cable. Coat it with lithium grease and reinsert.

    Did you find the squeak??

If not, pull the small clips that screw to the cowl and support the windshield...the rubber rots off those after years of service and you get glass to metal contact...very annoying to say the least, loud type squeak over every little bump and vibration...

Can also lay on floor and reach up and check things under dash. Sometimes defrost duct can squeak too.
