Spotted: 1973 Century GS With Pics

Approx. 1 block North of Peoria on 19th ave in Phx AZ. It's parked in front of a locksmith store, east side of the street. See the guy at the car repair place next to it.

Owner asking $1250 FIRM. Car appears to be former vinyl top car. No visible rust out in the usual places, but some rust around rear window channel. I'd say it needs a repaint as it was apparently sprayed over rusty surface-on roof. Bumper in front left corner tweaked from hitting something, bent down some. There is a suspicious amount of inner wheel well coating in the corrner of the driver's side rear wheel well. Was told it has a 350. GS emblems and center caps in trunk. I didn't do a hard inspection, but think $1250 may be worth it.
    Supposedly runs, drives etc.
Here's the story. Elderly owner passed away and they want to get rid of some belongings ASAP. If I could justify buying it I would.

Now if someone wants to pay me a total of $800 for both my Buicks--- a non-running 68 GS CA that needs sheetemetal repair and a plain jain non-running 69 'Lark I'll snap it up. Otherwise, good hunting.

BTW, I have no connection to this car. Just wanted to give the Buick lovers a shot at her.

It would definetely be worth $1400 if it was a rust free GS in any condition. If nothing else there are people who need the body parts and the posi rear with sway bar is a big plus.

It's a little rough, but from my short inspection it seems a little elbow grease could make it nice again. The interior is ok, but the driver's seat has a tear where the vinyl got brittle.
I'm tempted to go out there with a magnet and check for filler.

I agree. If you're looking for a show car people will always argue it's cheaper to buy one that's done, but if you're just looking for a driver that's a nice one.

Woah! I would buy that car in a second for that price. If someone gets it and is gonna part it out, you could make A LOT of money off of that car, but even beeter help us 73 GS guys:Brow: . I would fix that car up though, it's not in bad shpae at all. Not sure if it's a real GS, cause there are no quater panel decals and the decklid emblem is wrong, etc. Would have to check the vin. But who cares, it's still a nice car!

I'll be getting the VIN today at the someone's request. The owner said the emblems were in the trunk. Smart move.

It looks like I'll have to take myself our of the running for the car. Got some work news yesterday that would make it's purchase a bad idea.

Ouch. I really liked the stying too. :ball:
