Anyone know if the speedo cluster assembly in 1965, is the same housing as the 1966-67 models? I know the 64's have the round electrical plug, where the 65 and up have the rectangular plug. I want to find another good housing, rebuild it and then install it.

What type of Buick is your question about :Do No: ?
Your photos are only 32 x 32 pixels in size.

    Hey Tim,

The circuit board pieces I sent you didn't work?

I have another 65 Car coming to my house soon and it will be getting some parts taken off of it. If you don't find one sooner you have first dibs.

Ok thanks Brian, let me know if you get one......As for the circuit boards, I haven't recieved them yet, but thats not to saying they aren't here yet. I only go once a week to get mail and packages. Maybe Saturday I'll check my mail. I'm thinking now, I would like to get a replacement housing, rebuild it, bench test it thouroughly first and then swap out mine so I don't tie up the car with the dash apart. I found a few 66 Skylarks in a local wrecking yard today, fairly complete cars and wondered if the speedo's are the same as a 65, as they look the same from a distance in the car. And also, there was one on E Bay too that the picture looks the same as mine.

I can take a nice picture of a '67 that is sitting in my basement if it'll help.

Ya, I noticed the pictures were small. The appliciation is in a 64 Buick Special, close enough 64 Skylark.....and for unknown reasons, it has a 65 electrical harness in it with the rectanglular plug in the cluster instead of the round 64 plug in.

I'm hoping one of these helps you, I wasn't really sure what I was taking a pictures of.

Tim.if you wanting to use the 64 dash,i should have an underdash wiring harness from a 64 skylark out in the shed.i parted one out a couple years ago & still have a couple pieces left.

You know what Ken? That was definately my thoughts a month a go to replace the 65 wiring with a 64 harness and save the confusion for the rest of the life of the car, and I may just PM you and do that. I do have a spare 64 cluster with the round plug already. So far the only issues I have left in the dash wiring area, is no dash lights, no turn indicator lights on the dash cluster, and the flutter in the gas guage. Brian sent me some circuit boards that may resolve this.

And thanks Bill for those pictures. Fantastic pictures and detail. Just from the pictures, I have my answer to my question that a 64-67 are the same housing. Is that one forsale Bill?

If you need any 66 Skylark/special speedometers I have about five of them that I would sell pretty cheap just to find them a new home... Shipping would be the real expense though.

Yes, the speddo cluster is for sale, I think a board member wanted the chrome dash bezel but didn't need the cluster, just to verify this is from a 1967 Buick Skylark with column shifted auto if it matters.
To follow the board rules, put a post in my part out thread and I'll post some pictures of the front of it as well.

I have a 64 and a 64 here are some pics. I would take $40 a piece for the clusters. If interested

Question I have that may resolve a lot of opinions. Looking the two of them in comparison, and never mind the circuit boards and round plug vs. the rectangle plug, we all can see that difference.....are there any differences in the housings or how they attach to the bezal? Same housing width, depth and length? Same# of attachment screws and holes?
Thanks in advance as that will confirm 65-67 are the same.

Here are some pics................the one with the round hole is a 64 and the other is a 65 thats on the brown vinyl floor.

If you changed all of the guts along with the metal backing it should work for a 64-65 but the 67 is different in the pics from bill. You can see at the lower portion at the ears on the 67.

And there it is....I see exactly what you are saying Brian. The bezal mounting tabs are down on the 67 and the tabs are more straight across with the 64-65. Finally, its clear to me now and so much for my plan unless I find a complete 65 cluster. Thanks Brian.

I'll have a 65 parts car here in an hour and will see how this one looks. I'll let you know and you can tell me if your interested. It looks like there are a few for you to choose from here on the board.

Also tomorrow, I'm going to try and work out a deal on a 65 Convert parts car. We shall see.
