Just wondering- Does anyone know if you could have special ordered a 4 speed on a '70-'72 skylark? Or if I am looking at one would it have had to been put in later? I know there are plently of Cutlass and LeMans that were factory 4 speeds. Thanks, Rich
Mike, I believe you may be wrong...B3, which was the code for a 4 speed was only available in the GS in "A" series cars...3 speeds (standard) were another thing. They were offered in Skylarks,Skylark 350,SkylarK Customs, as well as GS models,BUT....I have learned to never say never over the 20 plus years I have been into Buicks...
I was going to be quick to answer as well saying yes, but on second thought, not opting for the automatic I figured the base option would have been the manual 3 speed. Good question as I'm not too well versed in the A bodies. Devon
For what is worth the dealer books do not show a 4 speed available until you get to a GS 350. A 3 speed manual was available all the way to an in line 250 cid 6 banger chevy.
WOW, I have seen quite a few Skylarks with what appeared to be factory 4 speeds I guess I jumped the gun on my answer. :error: I suppose these cars must have come with a 3 speed and had em swapped to a 4 at one point in there lives? o No:
