SP1 Intake clearance

    1970Stage1 Why Go Quietly?

    I am installing an SP1 Intake on an iron head 455. A holley 850 double pumper is going to be used. The engine is going into a stock-location 68 Skylark chassis, with a flat fiberglass hood. Will this combo fit under the hood?? With a 1" spacer?? Air cleaner is not a consideration. Thanks, Steve

    I'm running a SP1 on my car. You can run a 1" spacer under the carb, but then there is NO room for an air cleaner. You will also have to remove the air cleaner threaded stud so it doesn't connect with the hood and give it a "pimple".

    Without the 1" spacer, you can run an air cleaner with a 2" drop and a 3" element. This is what I'm currently running.

    Does anyone know how much taller the SP1 is over the Edelbrock?

    The SP-1 is one inch taller than the Edelbrock.
