Hey all. its been a while. I am close to mounting the body back on the frame. I am looking for a company that sells the correct type bolts for body to frame bushings. There are some long and shorter bolts used. I have searched the site for a old post of where to get the correct style bolt with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. The bolts are for a 1971 Buick GS. See pic of old bolts. Thanks
Richard, checkout the ss396 website. I just purchased the bushing set for my 67. The ones in that set look just like them.

Try this, if you need for a coupe you can search through there items http://www.ebay.com/itm/INLINE-TUBE...ash=item5af0103448:g:rasAAMXQXQxRZd0C&vxp=mtr
The best are made by AMK products, See Dave's post here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...ounts-Found-but-Made-in&p=1161073#post1161073 The Ground Up ones are nice, but differ from the originals. Good price, they work, and are much better than most others (other than AMK). No experience with the Inline Tube ones yet.
Walt is correct. Buy all long style marked core support bolts. They are a little longer than originals but work in every area but the two under the doors. The shorter ones work good under the doors. The shorter ones can work too but are shorter than originals for some reason? I like to get a little more thread engaged. The style of bolt is the same for body mounts however. If you get them from other guys who knows what length they will give you. No washers were used on the bolts either on a Buick assuming you use Buick style cushions with molded in washers. If not use the big washers that came with the cushions.
Golden thread, I'll be needing those anytime soon too. I already had my mind on the bushings from oldbuickparts.com, but this thread changed my mind. Great info here.
I would bet if you called Hector he could get them for you. He lives in California, and you can't get better then original parts. I would also bet if you asked him nice he would label where the bolts go so you won't put them in the wrong positions. Duane
Duane has good thought. Core support bolts are the longest on originals. All other locations were same length. Flint only used a larger head non washer type bolt on the core support only. Those are tough to find.
Core support bolts are the longest on originals. All other locations were same length. Dave, I don't want to fight over this but if you use the 3 1/8" bolt at the number 3 position (directly below the door opening on a 2-door) you will end up pushing it thru the floor pan. All my "Flint cars" came like this, and we have scrapped a bunch of them Position #1&2 (at firewall) 3 1/8" with nut (11/16" Hex nut for Flint, 1" Square nut for GMAD) #3----2 3/4" 4&5 Rubber Plug 6&7 (In trunk) 3 1/8" At least that is what I have found. Duane
Hi Duane, in my wordy post 7 I noted to use the short bolts under the doors. I test fitted the long ones slowly years ago and figured out they hit.
I am confused now. I will have to check my assembly manuals and bolt stash to see if it shows shorter bolts for under doors. At least the new shorter ones do work there if guys can't find originals.
Guys, Here is what was in all of my cars. Duane is correct on the shorter ones being under the doors but I came up with different lengths than he did on my originals? 2 5/8" at firewall and under trunk floor 2 1/4" at doors(location #3) Core support is the longer one. 3 1/4" It looks to me that Inlines "short" bolt is longer than the originals and may hit the floor boards. Beware. AMK Short Body Bolt is 2 1/2" even though it is marked 2 5/8" it should still work. Under the doors test fit it.
This was a good Thread. Just wish you started before I put mine in. The will help a lot of people out of a lot of aggravation.
