Hey all, I'm going to attempt to port out my heads and intake. I've never tried anything like this so i need to ask some questions first i have the TA sp1 intake and the stage 2 SE heads.
    1) I have stage 2 SE heads, they dont look like they need too much porting just some smoothing out the rough edges, is this correct?
    2) can I bring the runners under the carbeurator in the intake manifold to a point? (someone suggested it to me)
    3) how much of a difference is there between the runners of the intake and the heads?
    4) off the subject of porting, is anyone familiar with TA's "the gibson" cam for the stage 2 heads?

Smoothing out the rough spots is a start. Bowl work is very important. The transition from the runner to the valve seat is where most restriction is. The TA heads are pretty good in this area. See the photo for an idea on work around the valve guides. It's a good idea to put a new intake gasket on the head, matched up to the bolt holes, and check the port alignment with the gasket. Do the same on the intake. Check this site out for more. http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm

Here's a pic of a repaired KB Wildcat that Jim Weise did for me. The runners are thinned out about 1.5" back into the runner.
