This emblem is in outstanding aesthetic condition. The problem is the stud on the back of the emblem that holds the wound spring, being the shitty material that it is, is no good. Someone who is good with materials like this would need to repair that section and they would have a beautiful emblem. Includes the spring. $45 shipped anywhere in continental U.S.
I am interested, Ken. I am gonna check the one I have and then I will get back to you with a yes or no. Thanks.
It's totally available just message me. Jeff, Todd and Matt in that order. I'm sure someone could make it work, it would just take a little ingenuity. Just trying to recover a little $. It's in such nice shape.
I will take it, Ken. PM on the way. Sorry, all you guys in line, but I gotta do it. The makeshift trunk lock cover I made out of my original is too "Redneck Repairs" now. Back when I made it, as a teen-ager in the 1970s, it was okay. But not now.
By the way, here is what I did in 1978 when, after buying my '69 from the local Buick dealer, I noticed that someone looking for a souvenir (I guess) had torn off the "GS" emblem part of the trunk lock cover. I took a spare fender emblem and modified it to attach to the backing plate that was still on the car.
I have a complete one in pretty nice shape if I recall correctly. I’ll sell it if somebody is interested. I just need to find it.
Yup, I am sure some other guys will be interested in that one, too. Originals are hard to find in good shape at a reasonable price, and the reproductions are over $100 when they are even in stock.
