so I got the frame, suspension and brakes done...And only 7 months to finish the rest.uzzled: good news - I have the tranny, tremec 5spd bad news - everything else needs work of some kind... I am hoping to shave some time in areas like correct parts and paints. I am building a 70 skylark convertibile pro-touring car so I do not have to be as strict on the correctness :beer Ok, Who else is in this kind of bind? some shots of my progress so far
close up of front have the global west suspension front and rear with the big brakes and coil overs
:Brow: heck, youre nearly done!! i have a diferent trans and converter and some other things i was gonna do-but-its already toolate to start changin my combo-i want to get my car in ohio for the norwalk race which means tavelin in april-then leave it there till salem, so im not gonna mess with it till after vegas this year. after all, its dependable and repaeats ets like a rubber stamp, and i wouldnt have enough time to work out any bugs now.
You're ahead of me! I have a bunch of parts, and a disassembled car. I want to have it done for the nationals too. It should be a mad rush to get it done in time.
I've got an even bigger dilemna than some. Should I try to finish the '69 GS convert in my avatar, which needs to have a 455 engine rebuilt, paint, top, windshield, interior work, lots of assembly, etc. OR Do I patch a couple rust spots on the '69 GS California and drive that down. It could use a new vinyl top and The little 350 ran 13.85s this past summer so I shouldn't have to mess with the driveline. Hmmm, or do I rebuild the 455 I have for the convert and stuff it into the California until the convert is ready?? Maybe get it into the 12s????
Hey doesn't Cole's car look like it is parked in a big Garage, a garage where a bunch of Buick nuts hang out. Where he can get help to finish on time! I think you have a leg up on us Cole. Thanks Chris on the offer, I might take you up on that come spring! Being a rag top man I say spend the time you need to get the 69 convert done the way you want. If you finish great, if not drive the California!
God, that chassie is beautiful!!!...I wouldn't want to cover it up..lol, or drive it...just look at it!
I'll help I'll help. Maybe Chris and I and some other MA/NH guys could come up there like those guys did last month for Ken Lisk's GSX.
great, thanks Paul. When I get it to the next stage...body swap I will hook up with you guys. James, thanks! of course thats been part of the problem. I've been spending too much time just staring at it
Yeah, it is really nice. You should just put a huge body lift on it, so everyone can see it. Trust me... out here (I live 25 minutes from Quaker City) it would fit right in! It's the redneck thing to do. ou:
