    I had similar problems with mine. I have a ground terminal on the headlight switch, and a ground terminal bolted on the steering wheel/brake pedal bracket. Only problem was that I could only find one ground wire (besides the one for the wiper switch.

    If I ran the only ground wire I could find to the light switch, all sorts of weird stuff happened, similar to what you mentioned.

    If I run the wire to the terminal on the support, everything works great except the dome lights don't come on if you turn them on with the headlight switch.

    For now I cut the terminal end off, put a new terminal end on it but added another ground lead (two ground wires in one connector) put this on the headlight switch ground. I then put a terminal on the other end of the new wire I put in and connected it to the ground terminal on the bracket.

    Everything works as it should, but I'm still determined to figure out how it is really supposed to be.
