Does anyone know the part number for a 70, 71, 72 4 speed handle for a GS? I have a guy who's selling one that's riveted to the shifter assembly (??) and not bolted on. The handle also has the letter "H" embossed onto the side and I thought the word "HURST" should be there. The guy swears this assembly is for a Buick and wants big $$ for it and something doesn't seem right.

The "H" handle is for a Cutlass.... not a Buick :Smarty:

you can use it.. but don't pay big bux for it

    I paid 35.00 for the one I'm using..:bglasses:

I believe that handle, if it has just about the correct shape, would be from a non 442 Cutlass. The 5335 number is the only number that appears on the correct shifter. It is the Hurst number and not the GM number. It is located on the butt of the handle.

Thanks guys, I'll be on the lookout for a shifter handle with the 5335 code on it for my car.

Next question, does anyone have one for sale or do I have to take a 2nd mortgage out first? I purchased a complete 4 speed combo from Dave Kleinert (GS Enterprises) without the handle and right now he's out of stock.

They are being made so they have never been in stock.

I believe Olds said Hurst as well in 70-72. Earlier Olds may have used the H handles.
