Seat belt bucket disassemble?

I want to start cleaning my seat belts and had a question about the buckle, does the metal buckle release assemble remove easily? And how?

I’ve seen threads on how to wash them but didn’t want to submerge the metal buckle in a bucket or washing machine.

    Thanks again

Hey Ryan @Ryans-GSX I just watched your video on how to get the buckle apart
    https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...ration-disassembly-video.355322/#post-3038758

Now my question is, do you have any tricks for actually getting the actual belt out of the buckle so that I can wash the belts and not the metal parts? And then clean all the rust off that piece?
Or I can send them all to you to clean...LOL And then you can help me install next time your in town :) ;)

    Thanks,
    Nick

Just put the belt and buckle in the bucket and wash them. Nothing will happen to the buckle.

Hot water, laundry detergent and agitate them in the bucket by hand. If you want, you can lay them out on a piece of plywood and use a scrub brush after you soak them overnight

    Nick,
if you really want to remove the part you are pointing to> remove the latch spring. You need to get some belt slack around the part you are pointing to, you have to angle it to get it out. Watch the angle of that part because it is directional. It can be a little of a pain.
