Just came home with a 455 (non-running) with trans, an 80-something Cavalier and a 92 Saturn for $200. The 455 & trans are just core parts, but still BBB!. The Cavalier is spray-painted flat black with powder blue wheels (puuurrty! heehee) and barely runs. When I started it the oil pressure guage jumped to 40, then hit 0. He had to put in 3+ quarts of oil. ("It leaks a little" he says... ) He threw it in for buying the Saturn... haha The Saturn looks decent though, body's straight, interior's clean, decent tires, etc. It has a very odd problem though. Maybe the experts here can shed some light on it- - - It runs fine sitting on the end of the driveway where its parked at an uphill angle. Drive it onto a flat surface and it dies out. Won't run at all. Has plenty of gas in it. Well, the guage says so anyway, if it can be trusted (personal curse there). Any ideas? Hoping for a cheap fix & a turnaround sale for some "toys" money.
look for a smashed fuel tank. it may have even popped back to normal... but could have bent the sump fore or aft.
