The top on my 75 won't go up after being down for the summer. It wants to go down further when the switch in in the down position, but nothing when I try to put it up. These scissors type tops are a pain. Easy with the A car hydraulic systems.

Anybody got any knowledge or a link to someone who does on these? It's definitely electrical. Is there a relay for this somewhere that may be the culprit. I put the cover over the car for the winter, but would have rather got the top and windows up first.

    Thanks, Dave

BTW, this isn't really a Buick, but a 1975 Olds Delta Royale (88)..

remove rear seat bottom and rear seat and and you will find motor and relay there.

It's not a complicated system. Sounds like the motor is working. Could be the relay. You can take the cover off the relay and clean the contacts with fine sand paper. They could be all you need.

The relay on my '72 Centurion sometimes get's flaky. I have one I picked up off E-bay a few years back for the day it out right quits on me. It is located behind the back seat, right in the middle. Again, this is on my '72, but yours should be around the motor somewhere.

FYI..... these tops always work better when the car is running. that extra voltage really makes a difference.
what part of the country you in?
