Hi all, I am an auto shop teacher at a small private school in OKlahoma. We are embarking on the adventure of restoring a 1970 Buick Skylark. We hope to put the car in GSX trim and upgrades. My dad owned a 70 GS 350 and I loved racing it: sometimes he knew, sometimes he didn't (He actually let me bracket race the car on Wednesday nights!). We are excited about the project, as the kids get a little tired of replacing starters and transmissions in the all too common 1986-93 whatevers. If anyone has advice or parts they would let go of cheap let me know. We need GS grille, rear bumper, and taillights. We might have a line on a GS hood, but if it falls through we will need that as well. Also considering a 455 engine if we could get one. Thanks, Fred Volz Oklahoma Academy
Why not make a list of all things you'll need and put it on here? I'm sure you'll have alot of smaller items too,so if you give a detailed list,I bet alot of guys will help out.
That's a good idea, Bignasty. We're picking up the car tomorrow and will take "inventory" Tuesday. We are happy that the car is rust free and straight. The stuff I posted for are just the obvious needs. BTW, does anyone make a fastener Kit for this car? If not I suppose a Chevelle kit would be close on a lot of it.
