i have a pretty simple question, when i start my car, 455 with holley 750, in the garage, it seems like it is running really rich.

It produces a bluish haze under the floracent light and burns your eyes and nose. It seems like when i start my motor, you can see it is blowing alittle blue smoke out of both tailpipes. i checked all the plugs and they all look a tanish color in the center with you want.

will a rich running motor produce smoke like a motor burning oil, and if a motor is burning oil won't the plugs be screwed up?:Do No:

You seem to be running rich only on the idle cicuit going by the plugs. Get a vacumn gauge and adjust the idle mixture screws for max vacumn. A good starting point is 2 turns out after lightly seating them. BTW, if turning these screws does nothing to the idle the carb is no longer running on just the idle circuit. If this happens, the power valve will need to be changed accordingly.

...shouldn't running too rich produce white smoke?? The eye irritation certainly points to too rich a mixture.

    Nope, that would be black.

Look for one of the two things that Chris Cornett mentioned, imo.
