Okay, this is another one of my stupid questions... Background: I don't drive much, and the first few times I did after getting the new exhaust it ran pretty poor (I didn't have a chance to investigate at the time). Knowing I have carb problems I left it be until one day, coming out of a store, I noticed a puddle where one shouldn't (couldn't) be. I decided to check anyway - yep, it was there before I parked b/c there is nothing on that part of the car that could drip. Coincidentally, I noticed a plug wire on either side was disconnected. Probably from the exhaust shop when looking for the manifold leak. I reconnected them and, needless to say, it runs much smoother and my mileage has improved. However, now I don't have to keep my foot on the gas at stop lights, and it doesn't diesel when I shut down. Not that I'm arguing, I'm just curious as to the finer points of engine operation. I know a 350 can idle (rough, but not stall) on 7 cylinders, so I'm a bit confused over this and the dieseling. Teach me.
