I'm looking for a Rochester 2GV (2-barrel) carburetor for a 1968 Skylark w/350ci and automatic transmission, carb #7028140. Specifically, I need the airhorn (see pic) as the fuel-filter threads are stripped on mine. I'm not looking for a #'s matching, exact year/make/model/date-code, though that would be convenient. I just want a carb that matches the picture so I can fix mine. If anyone one for sale, please let me know!
Local yard has a couple of 73-75 Regals with 350-2bbl. I can get them or check my inventory for spares. Need your reply no later than 11 pm Eastern Friday/tonight. Email me direct at GStage1@buickperformance.com
Kirk, I have one off a 72 Skylark and looks to be the same. Carb is clean and complete but hasn't run in a while. lLet me know if you are interested. Bill
The more I search the less I find... It looks like a match can only be found with '68 and '69 models. Later years switched to a 2-bbl with the fuel-inlet on the front. Pontiac carbs may work but the air-cleaner mount is different (casting and stud versus the Buick's wire bail). I checked marine applications of the 2G, but they don't have the external idle vent - not only is the hole not drilled, the cast stand-off is missing. Anyone out there upgrade their '68/'69 to a 4-bbl and are looking to sell their 2-bbl?
I. Uh, believe. . .! Hey Kirk. . I believe I have one of them thar cabenraters. things. Gimme a day er so to check-it-out, OK? :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay (your avatar. .appears to be a Cessna 172?)
