Rochester 2G Accel Pump

How can I adjust the accelerator pump on a Rochester 2G seris carb?

I have to pump the gas 4 times to start the car, and it also hesitates when hitting the throttle.

I do see the two jets of gas shoot from the accelerator pump.

    Thanks!

BTW: I replaced my plugs today, they were bad, one snapped in half and the inside was rusty. Previouse owner tightened them way to tight.

Is it a fresh rebuild or mid to high mileage carb? The pump cup may be shot... Even tho the shooters work and shoot gas, doesn't necessarely mean the cup is good. To adjust, bend the rod that runs to the linkage. Remember, the pump goes down, so the linkage thing goes UP for a shorter shot and DOWN for a longer shot, bend rod accordingly.

Less than 3000 miles on the rebuild.

Which linkage part are you speaking of?

Looking at the front of the carb, on the drivers side, there's a lever which has a shaft that runs inside the fuel bowl and on it a hole with a rod which runs down to the throttle assembly. It's at the front, about mid fuel bowl, maybe closer to the front and is run through the airhorn section of the carb.

The rod should be just c-cliped (or a clip of somesort) to the throttle assembly. Remove the clip and the rod can be removed. Be carefull bending and work in small steps and test.. It's easy to do.. :TU:
