Right channel speaker static 1992 RM

Well, fortunately, it’s a nice day and I’m in the shade with a nice breeze, but the static is still staying with me. I decided to pull the door panel on my 1992 roadmaster Limited since the window motor was bad and the speaker was unbearable when the static blasted through when it felt like it.

Speaker looks good for being over 30 years old but I still installed the new polyurethane coned 5 1/4 inch coaxial speaker.

Yep speaker static is still there as I test it before I seal everything up so I’m guessing the right channel of the head unit is shot?

The battery has been reset several times due to the AC head unit kicking out and needing to be reset (maybe it’s a bad round somewhere ?) but this car has never been tinkered with & is bone stock .

I really hate the look of a replacement big din radio so I probably will just look for a smaller unit to put in the glove box so I can keep the dash factory.

Anyhow, going to switch over to the window motor now, so if anyone has any suggestions on the stereo situation, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Yours most truly,:D

Welllllllllllllllllll……..I guess I should have KNOWN I can’t “just let the paint dry on one project & skip to another “.
Window motors are now MIA siiiiiiiiigh.
Between trying to dig through parts to sell for the past Nats and my wife making “your pile” (car parts in a box beside the door:D) and me then digging for stuff when I got home this could take some time.
Fortunately my interior looks AWESOME with the door panel off!:(
