    Hi Everyone,

I just received my Ridetech Level 2 coil-over set-up today. This is the one for the 68-72 A body. I will be installing this on my 1970 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible. It has the 350 w/350 trans...2BBl with power brakes and steering.

I will send pics as I get this under way. Hoping I made the right choice.

Any suggestions on what to look out for before I tear into this would be appriciated.

You made a good choice with Ridetech. They are leaders in the suspension market with top-notch products and service to back it up.

Thanks. This car really is a blast to tour in. Can't wait for it to handle well.

Took a hard look at the front end and talked to a few buddies. It makes sense to replace some of the old parts in addition to the Ridetech part. I have the tie rods, center link and a few other parts tee'd up on the Autozone web site but the sting of the ridetech parts will have me on hold for a few days. I have new calipers and a few brake items too as all of the brake parts and flex lines appear original.

I was surprised that the front sway bar is 1 1/4". Anyone know if that was standard on the 1970 convertibles?

Nice Skylark. From what I can see in pic #2, your car has a nice interior as well.

Three freinds helped with the installation of the system. We knocked most of it out in an eight hour day. In addition to changing out the the kit parts I replaced the tie rods, center link, brakes and flex lines and had the exhaust replaced(We had to cut the old one off due to clearance issues with the rear suspension geometry).

Here is a link to a video my buddy put together.

Let me know what you think!

install looks great! what did you run for rear sway bar and front sway bar end links? looks like the factory links. I run thier shockwave setup in my 66 lark and love it but didnt know if i should spend the $100 for thier endlinks.

I had an 1 1/4" front sway bar that was original that I reused after a good cleaning and shot of Eastwood rattle can black. I still need to find new end link bushings to replace the original and the new bushings I put on the front caused me to have to shave of the steering box 1/4". I will have brackets made to lower the front sway bar off of the frame 1/2".

I did not add the rear sway bar and for how it drives now do not think I will add it on later. I have the single adjustable set-up and went with 9 on the front and 7 on the back. Upped the front to 16 on a windy road and the feel is pretty good. I will play with different setting to see what is the best all around. The front settings are easy to change but the rear is diffiicult to get to....my only complaint.
