Drove the car for about 30 miles tonight, and at this time I'd have to say I really like the new mac-daddy fuel pump. I did not have to clearance the holes in the pump to clear the rollmaster timing chain or anything. Jim shipped it with the fittings I needed and after a couple of weeks of inactivity I got it running again yesterday. Car pulls through at least the first 2 gears with no sign of fuel loss and at 30 miles it's went as far as both of the Mr Trashkit pumps I went through before this. Preassure gage on the fuel rail bounces between 7 and 9 psi with no regulator. May add one later but right now everything seems fine.

While I was in there I put on an SP1 I won at the Bristol Bash 2 years ago. (was supposed to be Q-jet or holley even says so on the box, but it is a Holley only flange :( ). So I also topped it off with a Holly 950 I purchased from a board member for a good deal a year or so ago. I'd have to guess there is some work I need to do on the squirters and secondarys to begin with on the Holley but that will probably wait til spring as it starts and runs good enough as it is.

Thanx for providing a quality product Jim!:beer As I get older I'm finding that I'm more wiling to spend a few x-tra bucks and do something right the first time. So many of the vendors out there tell you what you want to hear or sell you what they want to get rid of not necessarily what you want/need. I really appreciate Jims bluntness on many of the issues I've called/emailed him about the last couple of years and I'm trying to make a point of buying more stuff from him to support his cause!

    regards

    Glad to hear it Ken.

Although we always try and completely test anything we sell before we let it go, I always lay awake at night, pondering over factory variations..

And I suppose I should say.. we did put this pump on that 600 HP/TQ motor in my avatar on the dyno, after we completed the tuneup.

It made the exact same HP as the dyno's fuel system, and maintained over 8 psi at 6000 RPM. I was personally sceptical on the claims put forth by my vendor on these, but after testing it, I do believe that pump would feed 800+ HP, with the proper fuel supply. The thing that my dyno operater noticed right away, was that it sucked fuel out of the can that was sitting on the floor almost instantly, when we changed over on the dyno.

I personally am quite glad I will never have to put an electric pump in a street car again..

Thanks for the kind words Ken.
