I was just wondering what the easiest way was to remove the dashpad on my 69 skylark, I've got someone buying it and I don't wan't to damage it by finding out myself how to take it off. I know the "quickest" way, the sledge and a sawzall---just kidding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sean
Might help... There is some info about the 70-72 cars at http://buickperformance.com/ perhaps it will help. Good Luck Bert
Since you are sending me a windsheild wiper arm. I have a 69 convertible Skylark. On mine the are three "pins located on the back of the dash. One on either end the other in the center above the radio. There are several metal "clips" that line up on the upper part of the dash that go into slots. They only slip in not snap in like the pins. You kind of have to just yank it off. Start at one end or the other and just start working it. I started by reaching up to the top and back of the dash pad. Kind of push down and pull back. See how that goes. Here are a few pics of how it os held on to give you an idea Jim
Thanks Jim Thanks a lot Jim, That's exactly the help I needed and the pics helped a lot to. Sean P.S. My wife says you are awesome
.....there's at least one screw somewhere's inbetween the radio and the glove box goes up into it from underneth
Just note the two side pins acctually come ot of those holders in the picture and are a pain in the azz to get out and many a dash pad has been bent in this area so be VERY carefull on the two out side snap pins Ken
Hi Sean , you have 2 screws who are coming from the cluster to the dash pad too . For those underneath I don't remember if I took the glove box off before . When all the screw are all out (double check for any other left) The snap on each side are kinda stiff , take yout time it's gonna be fine . Here's a picture from my 68
Thanks a million, guys Thanks for all the help guys, I did manage to get it off without breaking a single thing(Well except for a sweat :Brow: LOL). You guys are all awesome and I don't think I could have done it without ya. When this buick is gone I'm gonna miss hangin out on the board into all hours of the night :Comp: . I'm sure I'll still poke in now and then to see whats happening and hopefully you don't hold it against me that I gave up the buick to devote my time and money to my 87 Monte Carlo SS with a 350 HP-350 out of a 1970 vette. You know down deep I'll always be a buick fan but I've wanted one of these SS's since I was a kid and the 350 horses under the hood makes it even more fun. Thanks again guys for all the help and if you are looking for any 69 parts you know where to ask Sean HammermanR2@aol.com
