My top will not go up, not really a problem this time of year, but I need to know how to get to it. I know the motor is located behind the rear seat, but how do I get the seat out? I have a 72 skylark. Has anyone else had trouble like this with the top motor, it makes the correct noise when the switch is placed in the down possition, but when it is flipped to up, there is nothing... Could it be something wrong with the switch? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe the lines need to be bled, or the compressor needs to be replaced?

The lower back seat comes out first. Look underneath the seat, and you should see the 'hooks' that are holding it in place. Usually a good 'shove in and lift' will be sufficient to take out the lower back seat.

The upper seat has 2 (I think) bolts that will be exposed once the lower seat is out. Remove them and lift up on the upper back seat.

You can also get at the compressor from the trunk.
