Whats the secret here? I was able to remove the mirror from the base but cant figure out how the cables come off. I need to end up with a bare housing so i can have it chromed. Its a 69.
    Thanks

They don't come apart unless you break the mirror. Good Luck!

I was actually able to remove the cables from the joystick and pull the entire cable assembly thru the mirror. I think the hard part will be putting it back.

I replaced mine for a better , but hasn't try to pass the "joystick" from the base , what happened to the glass ? Do you break it ?

With my "better" mirror I have replaced the glass because it was not good , I now have a brand new glass and a good chrome mirror for about 55 $
