I would like to know of some of the fastest 455 buick combinations out there with aluminum and steel heads in a buick regal. I have one and am trying to figure where I have went wrong on my combo.
86 Regal Limited,462 with alum stage1 heads,KB Wildcat intake,1000 cfm thermoquad, 3.42 gn spooled rearend, th400 trans, boxed lower control arms, adjustable uppers, fiberglass hood and bumpers, full interior with rollbar, 16 gal fuel cell mounted in the trunk and 275-60 BF Goodrich drag radials rear and front runners up front all mounted on weld racing wheels. It,s still heavy at 3600lbs but first time out with no tuning or cold water through the intake, and a reasonable short time in the 1.70's it ran mid 11's at 119 mph. With some tuning and suspension adjustments it should run low 11's and mid 120's. This is also a street driven vehicle fully street legal and lic'ed.
Friend of mine did this: 83 T-Type, 430 re-ring new rods and mains, cam is a Stage 2 variant of the GSCA's Hemi Killer, ported iron heads, SP-1, TA shorty headers, 3" exhaust to the middle of the car, TH-350 with a 2800-3000 stall converter and a B&M shift kit, Ford 9" from a Lincoln Versilles, third member is a nodular casting with 3.89 gears and a Detroit locker, 31 spline axles from Currie, it also has an aluminum rad. He used 28.5X10.5" slicks and skinnies up front on some custom Buick ralleys he made. The car weighs in at 3000 lbs. His best run with this combo is 11.26. He was basically getting the car set up for when he puts his Stage 2 464 in next year. Hopefully 10's will be in his future.
