My mind wanders a lot with things Id like to do to the car.. Most times I dream of changing the color to Stratomist Blue But recently I saw a 70's Mopar on a video clip online that was silver with a red interior and it looked awesome! That reminded me that the A-body was not available with a red interior but I seem remember someone on the board doing it using an Oldsmobile color but made in the Buick pattern? Does anyone have pictures of that? it was a silver car too, Skylark/GS
If I remember correctly for the 64-72 Buick A-bodies the last red interior available was for 69. The 70 Chevelles had a bright red interior available, and that color would look nice in a Silver car, but I believe it was not available for convertibles due to fading issues. You could probably easily find a picture of a Silver & Red Vette to see the color contrasts. I am sure Legendary could make you any color interior for a price, but I am sure it would need to be prepaid and would not be returnable. In the day I made lots of crazy interiors, including heat sealing cobra patterns for Fords, Chevy emblem outlines, and both "GS" & "GSX" stampings in the seat covers. We even made one set of black/Plum Crazy seat covers for a Mopar. The wild cloth pattern ended up giving you a headache if you looked at it too long, but it looked great in the car. I did draw the line when a certain person wanted the seat covers in their car to match "his" pink & white handbag, but that's another story.ou: Duane
Sounds cool Curtis. I have sometimes thought about leaving my white bucket seats and door panels alone and switch the black dash, carpet, and wheel to red. The only hard part would be dying the dashboard to red as they were not offered in that color. Then I come to my senses though
Curtis, I see that car all the time at cruise meets, and know the owner. It does look nice. Go for it.
That is George Papodopolus cousins car, Georges '67 GS is black with a RED interior....both those cars are awesome. Here's the video................ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzxcPhQPrew
So it seems like its not impossible and not out of the realm of a possibility dash could be dyed, console painted, carpet headliner seats panels should be no issue But what would I do with a black vinyl top... hmmmm
I can relate to that, In my University years I had 92 Mustang that was red inside. When I got it.. it was VERY red to me, but I got used to it and liked it.
