does anyone know any places near western massachusetts that does decent rechroming for a decent price, or a place I could buy good looking replacement parts, OR even a place I can mail pieces for rechroming?

It's not quite Western Mass. but I'm in the Albany, NY area and I just sent my bumpers for my '70 Sportwagon out for rechroming. I went thru Keystone Automotive in Albany.

I had the bumpers on my '69 GS rechromed back in 1998 and they still look beautiful. I think Keystone sends them to Alabama or Minnesota - takes about 2 months. They are straightened, small holes patched/repaired and the chrome comes with a lifetime warranty. If they can't use the one you sent them (too far gone), they charged an extra $100 core charge to use one of theirs. Back in 1998 I paid $350 a piece - now the price has gone up slightly ($410) but I think it's well worth it. I can let you know how they turn out when I get them back, probably around Christmas.

    That is a long time...

But the bumpers are quite large (rear is biggest) and do require MUCH labor to get them right. $410 is a cheap price, show quality chrome will cost double that.

It's too friggin cold here. I'm trying to finish my '65 Skylark before I move to Hawaii in March and there's still a lot of work to do.
