I have A 72 Skylark that has saggy rear springs.I would like to have A rake to my car and I'm going to be installing 15x8in rims and beefy tires and new shocks on the back.Right now the car does not wheel hope any and I'm afraid of stuffing it up and making it wheel hope, would rather not buy traction bars.
I have been considering the Moog cc501 springs and was wondering if this would be A good choice.

Hard to say if you will get any rake without more info. 14's in the front and 15's in the rear is a trick some guys do to get the front lower. Most Skylarks/GS look low in the rear, so rake is definitely a plus. The 501's will give a great ride, but I do not think they will raise your car much over stock height. See what Brian recommends.

I got the original 14 on it,I will leave the 14,s on the front and put the 15,s on the back, that will probably give some rake.

I haven't bought any springs yet but would like to with in A couple of weeks.
Could some one please give me A part number to A set of rear springs that will make my 72 Skylark set higher than stock.

I still haven't bought any springs yet ,but definitely going to. I have been reading and considering installing A set of mog cc505 springs. From what I have read they would raise it about 3in.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me A part number of A set of shocks that would work with these springs. I have seen some shock 3in extension on Ebay .

Buy some coil spring rubber spacers for the top that prevent squeaks, then add spacers that are for lift on the bottom. You can take them back out if needed.
28" rear tires will add another inch over the 26" near stock tires.
Moog 5379 rear springs are the tallest I have ever used. They ride good and improved launch traction. The Moog 5385 cargo springs were too stiff for me and did not get a bite for some reason, and were near the same height as the 5379.
Now using cc501 and like them, but they are not "tall".
Tried some tall used Monte Carlo springs once and got wheel hop. Got off the throttle and threw those springs in a dumpster!

I would think you would want to go with stock length shocks. I use the KYB KG 5504.

If you must use a taller than stock shock, you will be too tall. Wheel hop for sure.

A taller spring does not mean you need a longer shock. The length is usually measured out of the car - no load or "free height". You should search the site for info like: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/moog-5401-springs.301816/#post-2892633. The installed height is in the specified car. Use a chart like this: https://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/universal_coil_springs.asp. Or just ask on this site what other folks are doing. Many folks have tried several springs to get the height they wanted. You may even find someone who will let you try their "cast offs"! There are many variables that affect ride height or wheel hop.

Thats why TA sells No Hop Bars that goes on top of your rearaxle. I used them since 2006 no wheelhop anymore since then.
