I'd like to try & duplicate the rear shoulder harnesses, believed available for my '71 Skylark. I see the rear shelf plate has a pair of mounting locations with pre-drilled holes. These are slightly raised from the shelf steel. Looks like a steel plate will be installed under the shelf structure to help take any load.

I've seen a pic here of only one other car with this option. '70 GS in white?
The shoulder belts are the same as the forward pair, just mounted differently?

There is indeed a steel plate that mates up to the holes from inside the trunk. The shoulderbelts are however no where near like the front belts. The buckle is on the top half of the belt while the "blade" portion is on the bottom. Likewise, the front belts are way too short to work in the back. My '70 hardtop has these (in sad shape at this point) but I can try and get a decent picture or two.

classic industries does make those 3 point belts for rear seats in a chevelle so it should work on a lark .........no clue on how factory looking it is

A pic would be nice, at your convenience. I don't see the right pieces in my parts book. I'll keep looking.
I'd like to keep it to factory parts/application if at all possible. Looks like I've a bit of work to do locating the right stuff.

Here are some pictures of what's left of the rear shoulder belts in my car. It's spent the last 20 years outside so they are quite sun bleached.

Thanks Greg. I'll be looking for this set up for my car. Let me know if you ever decide to part with yours.
